What I love most about this course is that it’s completely centred around music, and every day, I’m learning, creating, and performing. We explore everything from playing instruments and working in bands to songwriting, composition, and understanding the music industry. It’s the perfect environment to develop both your skills and creativity.

As a music student, it’s important to have some experience, but just as important is having an open mind. You have to be ready to experiment, express yourself, and really enjoy what you’re doing.

I’ve also had great opportunities to perform. Until recently, I was in a band, and we played a number of gigs both inside and outside of college. Getting the chance to perform to real audiences was an incredible experience, and it helped me build confidence and gave me a real taste of what life as a musician is like. Those experiences outside of college definitely feed back into my studies and make me a stronger performer overall.

I’ve even had some unexpected opportunities come my way through college. For example, an ex-student who was performing in Bristol needed a drummer, and my lecturer recommended me for the gig. It ended up being a professional performance, which was an amazing experience and showed me how many opportunities can come from being part of this course.

Looking ahead, I’m planning to go on to university to continue studying music. Of course, the dream is to get signed to Rough Trade and become a millionaire rock star, but for now, I’m just focused on developing my skills, enjoying every opportunity, and seeing where music takes me.

My peers and staff have been incredibly supportive. The staff are fantastic; if you have any questions, they’re always there to help. In lessons, they focus on helping every individual and give their attention to all students. Their support makes a big difference in building my confidence and skills.
