Course Overview

The course will explore a number of techniques including: screen printing, using ready made screens, Indian wood block printing, stencil printing and sublimation printing. The course will include making a range of finished items including stationary, wrapping paper and lampshades.

This is a new course for us using a new tutor. Over the six weeks a range of surface pattern design processes will be explored. A focus on sustainability using inks that are kinder to the environment.

The costs for the printing inks and most materials are included with the course. If you wish to create different items to those provided by the tutor you will need to provide those yourself.

Staff profile – Persephone has many years of experience working in the fashion and textile industry as a senior print designer. She currently designs for Sweaty Betty.

Assessment Methods

There will be full instruction on how to explore and then master each technique.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course excepting an enthusiasm to get better acquainted with varied surface design techniques in our printmaking studio.
