Course Overview

This one-year course will support your progression to the Level 3 in Beauty Therapy and is for those who have aspirations to work in the beauty and aesthetics industry. You will also complete work experience.

This course will be delivered in our training salons along with classroom-based sessions. This programme will be structured to enable retakes of GCSE English and maths, if required.

Topics may include:

  • Working in the beauty industry
  • Health and safety
  • Facials and skincare
  • Removal of hair and waxing techniques
  • Reception duties
  • Manicures and pedicures
  • Lash and brow treatments
  • Tanning
  • Make-up.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence using a range of assessment methods. These may include practical assessments on a range of clients, individual research, project work, and online exams.

Progression Options

On successful completion of the course and meeting the GCSE requirements, you could progress to a Level 3 in Beauty. Alternatively, you could progress into employment or find an apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

You need five GCSEs in the 9 to 3 range, including English and maths, or an appropriate Level 1 qualification alongside these GCSE grades. Entry is subject to a successful interview and induction.

You will need to demonstrate passion and interest in the beauty sector as well as a positive and professional attitude to learning.
