Course Overview

This course is designed for those wishing to advance their beauty skills to enable them to work within this diverse industry, carrying out a full range of treatments.

You will be required to show a mature and professional attitude and passion for working with clients. You will be studying a combination of units, including theoretical knowledge and practical understanding. You will also complete work experience.

Topics may include:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • The promotion and sale of products and services to clients
  • Health and safety
  • Client care and communication
  • Working with colleagues
  • Body massage and electrotherapy
  • Facial electrotherapy
  • Stone therapy treatment
  • Massaging using pre-blended oils.

Assessment Methods

You will be assessed through online exams and practical competency assessments.

Progression Options

If you are interested in continuing your studies to expand your knowledge, you could study a business course, or higher levels of aesthetics.

Alternatively, you could seek employment in day spas, salons, or as an independent/self-employed/mobile therapist. It is also worth exploring opportunities with cruise liners, care homes, airlines, and hotel chains.

Entry Requirements

You need five GCSEs in the 9 to 3 range, including English and maths, and to have completed an appropriate Level 2 qualification. Entry is subject to a successful interview.
