Assessment Methods
The course is a self-study course. It is delivered via a blend of online study materials (virtual learning environment (VLE)), online workshops and on campus (face to face) workshops.
Online?materials can be accessed at any time, using a mobile, tablet or desktop – allowing you to fit your study around work and life commitments.
You will benefit from face-to-face workshops at BTC (Taunton Campus) and virtual workshops with an experienced tutor. A combination of tutor-led lessons, group exercises and discussion help you apply theory to real-life workplace situations.
Tutors are also available outside of the timetable to guide and help you with the course via the VLE and on campus.
CMI Qualifications are assessed by assignments. For each unit of study, you are required to produce an assignment that demonstrates understanding of the unit topic. Assignments are assessed and you will receive detailed feedback on the submission.
There are no exams to be taken, with assignments submitted sequentially upon completion of each unit.
Progression Options
On completion, apprentices can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management, and those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI.
Existing middle managers can use the certified knowledge and skills developed to improve ways of working and support career progression.
