Course Overview

This course is open to adults who have a good knowledge of sewing techniques but want to explore more complex options and own ideas with support while building their knowledge and skills of sewing, pattern cutting and textiles.

This is a new course designed for anyone interested in sewing, pattern cutting and textiles, it builds on the knowledge and skills learnt in the beginigers and intermediate course. Over the ten weeks, students will focus on pattern cutting technquies with time to build on their skills with a self-led project with guidence from tutor.

The course will explore a number of different pattern cutting skills including; draping on the stand, creating a pattern using the stand, creating a pattern from own measurments, adapting a basic block and zero waste pattern cutting. The course will include 5 weeks of guidance time where students will use what they have learnt in their own self-led projects.

All material and resources for the 5 taught sessions are included within the price. When student move to self-led project they will have to supply anything relating to what they are making.

Assessment Methods

There will be full instruction on how to explore and then master each technique, with 5 weeks for students to do a self-led project with guidance from the tutor.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course but students should have good knowledge of sewing and pattern cutting or have completed the beginners and intermediate courses previously.
