Getting to college made simple

Situated in the heart of the county town, Taunton College—part of the UCS College Group—benefits from fantastic transport links.

The College is a short walk from Taunton’s main bus and train station, and many buses stop right outside the College. Whether you are traveling from nearby villages or commuting across Somerset and Devon, our campus is designed to be highly accessible.

You may be eligible for financial help towards the cost of bus travel through the 16-19 Bursary Support Fund. We also offer permit parking, with designated zones for mopeds and bicycles.

By Bus

Taunton College is a ten-minute walk from the town centre, and many local bus routes stop right outside.

By Train

Taunton’s well-connected railway station has direct links to Tiverton, Exeter, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Bath, Bridgwater, and many smaller stations in-between. It takes around 20 minutes to walk to the College from the station, or you can hop on a local bus if you’re in a hurry.

For timetables and costs, please use the National Rail Enquiries service.

By Car

To help protect the environment, we encourage students to walk, cycle, or use public transport whenever possible. For those who drive, we offer limited pay-and-display parking on-site for just £1 per day. You will need to register your car on arrival with Reception.

There is also a Park & Ride facility near Junction 25 of the M5. From there, it’s a 15-minute journey into Taunton’s town centre, followed by a short walk to the College.

By Bicycle

We offer secure bike shelters and racks for our local cycling students.

Students traveling from Yeovil Bus Station (Route 54) or Minehead (Butlins) (Route 28) will need to be in place for 06:55am and 06:50am respectively.

Those living closer to Taunton have much later collection times, with pick-ups in Wellington (High Street) at 08:00am on Route 20, and Shoreditch Racecourse at 08:13am on Route 99.
