Course Overview

A one day course ideal for workplaces of less than 50 employees and based in low risk areas (shops, offices etc).

Topics may include:

  • The role of the first aider
  • First aid kits and equipment
  • Preventing cross infection
  • Recording accidents and near misses (incidents)
  • Assessing emergency situations
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious, needs CPR, is choking, wounded or bleeding, suffering from shock, or has minor cuts, bruises or scalds.

Assessment Methods

There are no formal assessments for this course, but class discussions will take place around the theoretical underpinning of knowledge.
