Develop the confidence and practical skills to take your first step into leadership.

This Leadership & Management Skills Booster is ideal for anyone looking to progress into a supervisory or team leader role, or for those already working in an entry-level position who want to develop the skills needed to advance their career.

Unlike many online courses, this programme combines flexible online learning with supportive, tutor-led classroom sessions at Taunton College, giving you the opportunity to learn alongside others, ask questions and apply your learning to real workplace situations.

As part of the programme, you will study the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading through our online eAssessor platform, supported by face-to-face sessions every other week. These evening sessions are designed to guide you through the course content, help you stay on track with assignment deadlines and build your confidence as a future leader.

In addition to the Level 2 Certificate, you will also gain four nationally recognised accredited awards, giving you a broader skill set that employers value.

Throughout the programme you will develop an understanding of:

  • Principles of effective team leadership
  • Communication and leadership styles
  • Management performance and motivating others
  • Equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace
  • British Values in modern organisations
  • Mental health awareness
  • Habit management and personal effectiveness
  • Professional behaviours expected of supervisors and team leaders.

Alongside the accredited content, you’ll also explore selected Level 3 leadership and management topics, providing an excellent introduction for learners wishing to progress their studies.

On successful completion, you will achieve:

  • NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading
  • ETA Award in Equality and Diversity
  • ETA Award in British Values
  • ETA Award in Habit Management
  • ETA Award in Understanding Mental Health

That’s five nationally recognised qualifications from one programme.

This course is delivered via online sessions on Thursdays, 6pm–9pm, in term-time.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is completed through the online eAssessor platform. You will submit coursework every two weeks throughout the programme, with tutor-led classroom sessions designed to prepare you for each submission and support your progress.

The programme has been designed to fit around work and other commitments.

You’ll complete your qualification online using our eAssessor platform, with tutor support throughout, while attending friendly, interactive evening sessions at Taunton College.

Classes take place on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm, generally every other week, with additional weekly sessions towards the end of the course to support completion.

This blended approach gives you the flexibility of online learning alongside the motivation, guidance and networking opportunities that come from learning with a group.

There are no formal examinations.
