Course Overview
This HND is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to work in the sport and exercise industry. You will study a range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, psychology, biomechanics, and coaching. You will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience through work placements.
Topics may include:

Assessment Methods
Assessment is through a combination of coursework, practical assessments, and examinations.
Progression Options
On successful completion of this HND, you will be able to progress to a top-up degree in a related subject, or to a career in the sport and exercise industry.
Entry Requirements
Typically entrants will possess:
- A minimum of 48 UCAS points from a full relevant Level 3 qualification such as Sport & Exercise Science, Sports Coaching & Development or Uniformed Protective Services
- At least four GCSEs at grade 4 and above including English, maths and science, or Level 2 equivalent.
Mature applicants with relevant experience, who do not have the stated entry requirements, are encouraged to apply.

All students have the opportunity to meet with a Careers Advisor for 1:1 career support.
The Student Experience Team can mentor and signpost students who are struggling with a range of issues that are negatively impacting their day-to-day life. The Student Experience Team works closely with the Safeguarding & Lifestyle Teams to promote proactive wellbeing enrichment sessions. The team can refer on to counselling when appropriate.
We provide top-quality workshops and teaching areas across our Colleges for subjects such as art, design and media, hair and beauty, catering, automotive engineering and construction. You can review our campus facilities by navigating to the “College Life” section of our websites.

All of our students will have a personal tutor to support them with their academic progress and personal development. The tutorial programme consists of 1:1 support, group tutorials and guest speakers, plus targeted online resources which complement the UCS College Group Advantage scheme.
