Course Overview

Take your barbecue skills to the next level with this hands-on cookery course at University Centre Somerset. Discover how to create a delicious summer feast packed with bold flavours, seasonal ingredients, and professional techniques that go far beyond the traditional barbecue.

Throughout the day, you’ll learn how to prepare and cook juicy homemade burgers, succulent pork belly, and chargrilled aubergine, gaining the confidence to cook over the barbecue with great results every time. You’ll also make a selection of vibrant seasonal salads that offer a refreshing alternative to the usual lettuce and tomato, bringing colour, texture, and flavour to your summer table.

To complete your BBQ spread, you’ll bake fresh flatbreads on the barbecue and prepare a zesty homemade chimichurri sauce – the perfect accompaniment to grilled meats and vegetables.

You’ll enjoy your creations together for lunch, giving you the opportunity to experience a restaurant-quality barbecue feast and take home the recipes to recreate for family and friends throughout the summer.

Whether you’re hosting friends, cooking for the family, or simply looking to get more from your barbecue, this course will provide the inspiration and skills to make every BBQ a memorable one.
