Course Overview

Join us for a practical and inspiring day at Taunton College, where you’ll learn how to create delicious, nutritious, and budget-friendly midweek meals from scratch.

This hands-on course focuses on making the most of everyday ingredients while maximising flavour, value, and nutrition. You’ll discover how to use a whole chicken efficiently, learning a range of preparation techniques and creating several meals from a single bird to reduce waste and stretch your food budget.

As part of the day, you’ll enjoy a hearty homemade Mexican bean soup for lunch, made using the chicken to demonstrate how every part of the bird can be used to create wholesome, flavour-packed meals with minimal waste.

You’ll also prepare a selection of quick and versatile pasta sauces that are perfect for busy weeknights, before creating a flavour-packed Korean beef rice bowl – a high-protein meal that’s ideal for supporting an active lifestyle and helping you achieve your protein goals.

Whether you’re cooking for yourself, your family, or looking to improve your confidence in the kitchen, this course will equip you with practical skills, time-saving techniques, and recipes you’ll return to again and again.
